Who is Kaza
As legendary Grateful Dead crew chief and author Steve Parish says, “I will state it simply: if you are not into the magic music of Kaza Moze you are missing one of the joys of life.” Kaza Moze is knocking down borders with acoustic roots and world rock sound flavored in Latin and eastern styles.
Kaza Moze came together in 2006 for what was supposed to be a one-time gig at the Wild Iris Festival in Mendocino County. But the chemistry and feel of the band was too much to deny. Each with diverse musical backgrounds of their own, Yousef, Tomanonymous, Dru and Rami continued on to create a sound that is uniquely Kaza Moze. The sound continued to develop and the shows matured over the next couple of years. Kaza Moze finished their debut studio album in 2009.
Kaza Moze released their second record “Rooftop Flyer” during the spring 2011. The band has evolved and refined their sound with tighter, transcending tunes while they still embrace and comment on the world around them.
Adding to the live show in 2011 was Roxanne Olivia on accordion, flute and hand percussion, which culminated in the collaboration on yet another record, “Box Candy”, and being included on the annual “Accordion Babes” calendar and associated compilation CD.
Kaza Moze has been performing throughout the Bay Area at private events, wineries, live venues and outdoor festivals, including Ashkenaz, Petaluma Art Center, Rivertown Revival, Apple Blossom Festival, Windsor Earth Day and Wellness Festival and Wild Iris Festival among others. Kaza Moze has also been spreading sound through interviews and live performances on radio (KRSH, KRCB, KOWZ, KWIN), online and via live shows, gaining a wide spread audience.
Kaza Moze: World Rock that grooves. World Rock that creates good times. Music that gets people up and dancing.
